It was our dream…
to bring a coffee house to Dawson Creek. A coffee house signifies a place to meet, recharge, sit and relax. As parents of 4, Jenny and I desire the time when we get to sit and enjoy each others company with a beverage. It was the reward after going for a morning run. It was the quiet place to retreat from our noisy world. It was the time to meet and have lovely conversation with a friend.
The dream starting coming into fruition when Steve Funk approached me with the idea to put ‘Troy’s Coffee Shop’ in the front of his building. It was the perfect opportunity to stop dreaming and take action. We needed all the right pieces, and the second piece was the shared dream with local coffee roaster Laine Cosens, of Drift Coffee Roasters. He has been honing his roasting skills for years and we recognized his skill and passion for the craft; we knew we wanted him to be a part of our business. This is just the beginning to an entirely new venture for my wife, an Emergency room nurse, and myself, a carpenter and avid dreamer, with the desire to create a welcoming space for our community to come to and congregate.
